The blank canvas was that of the engineered floor and the framed elements of timber in the public spaces. MHI were afforded the opportunity to create a café for the tenants of the building that would provide different spaces to meet, work or casually catch up. Luckily our inspiration came from the beautiful old stone church surrounded by foliage that graced our view from inside… What more could one ask for?
We were delighted with the outcome where we believe the outside is reflected within and therefore the fit out was focused on different tones of greens, browns, black and elements of brass to create a functional and hard- wearing space that office goers could enjoy. The lighting is all custom made and features within themselves, although subtle and our planter bench seat which was custom designed is finished in a porcelain tile, the same as in the café with beautiful striations of caramel on a black base. A very delighted commercially focused client whose request for a very functional and stable fit out was met so as to appease a demanding clientele.
